Weekly Wrap Up (26)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Did anyone see the solar eclipse on Monday? My work had a mini impromptu solar eclipse viewing party and it was pretty fun. Sadly no food involved though. Otherwise its been pretty quiet at work this week. it seems as though I’ve done a lot of reading this week. Not sure if I caught the reading bug, but I feel like I’m on a roll with all the books. Speaking of books or TV watching, I realized that I can start watching a series and be completely immerse in it until halfway through the season (Once Upon a Time and Stranger Things) where I start to get bored with it and go to a new show. Maybe it’s why I watch the ending first before going back to watch the rest of the series. If the ending is exciting enough and if my ship sails then I’ll most likely go back to watch how the story unfolds. Does this happen to anyone or maybe I’m just the only weirdo who does this?

✖ Teaser Tuesday: Miss Mayhem
✖ “Waiting” on Wednesday: The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding
✖ Blog Tour Review: So I Married a Sorcerer by Kerrelyn Sparks
✖ Series Overview: Raven Riders by Laura Kaye
✖ Review: Redemption by Debra Driza

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).
(:

[ARC] Warcross by Marie Lu: 3 of 5 stars – slightly disappointed with the world building and the kind of quick romance
Royal Crush by Meg Cabot: 4 of 5 stars – I like seeing Olivia’s growth
In Some Other Life by Jessica Brody: 5 of 5 stars – Kenndy’s and Dylan’s bickering cracked me up. That sofa scene though.
Alex, Approximately by Jen Bennett: 4 of 5 stars – Whenever I think of our beaches here in SoCal it’s not as blue as Bailey thinks it is.

BORROWED:

1. The Ends of the World by Maggie Hall
2. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

  1. I didn’t see the eclipse. We didn’t have the glasses so I stayed inside with the kids. I love binging shows. I can’t imagine watching the end first though! Glad to see You like In Some Other Life – I really want to get to it. Have a great week!

  2. I missed the eclipse, but I sort of had a feeling that was going to happen. The peak was during my busiest time of the day. Oh well, my co-works did show me their pictures. I am glad to see you liked In Some Other Life. This is the most positive review I have seen, and it was a book I was looking forward to.

  3. Watching the last episode first is such an interesting way to watch a show! I’ve never heard of anyone doing that– I actually do the opposite sometimes, I don’t want the series to end so I wait longer and longer between episodes and then sometimes wait ages before watching the last episode.

  4. I missed the eclipse – I don’t think it was big where I live! Because nobody really looked out too much in my country.
Have a great reading week 🙂

  5. I’m curious about In Some Other Life.

I didn’t even try to see the eclipse…not even close to the path here.

Enjoy your week…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. I watched the eclipse. Not the whole thing, but I popped out during my lunch and again on my conference. At first I wasn’t going to, but I’m glad I felt pressured by my coworkers to do it. I mean, it hasn’t happened in almost 40 years. We only got about 70% totality. I have a hard time starting new shows. I tried new shows throughout the summer and every single one was a doozy. They all were stupid and annoying. I don’t watch the endings. I watch all the way through if I stick with it.

  7. oh I just love all of those reading bugs, this week I was busy with work, and I was pretty distracted getting my car fixed and drama with that, so I fell behind on my reading. Hopefully this week will be much better.

  8. My workplace also had an impromptu “party” on the roof deck! No food though, like yours. We didn’t see much of the eclipse though. :/ I see you got Our Dark Duet – I still haven’t read that book but I definitely want to! I have so many series to finish. :O I hope you enjoy your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Jackie. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  9. I missed the eclipse because, you know, fancy glasses and what not. I’m glad your work ended up having an impromptu viewing party! It’s good to keep things fun and connect, even at work! <3

  10. i didn’t see the eclipse but don’t think we had any totality here anyway. Glad you are on a reading roll, that is always exciting

  11. I did get to see the eclipse and it was a lot more impressive than I had imagined it would be. I bet that the party was fun. I tend to get excited about a show, watch an episode and then never remember to watch another. I do this all the time. I am really not a TV watcher though.
