Weekly Wrap Up (31)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

Is it already October? 2017 is speeding by so fast and it doesn’t feel like I’ve done anything different from last year. Which is kind of depressing when you think about it. This week has been a long slow week. Not that it’s slow because there’s nothing to do at work (it’s quite the opposite), but work seems to be never ending. It’s just overwhelming sometimes. Anyways, other than that, it’s been a good reading week. I managed to finish a couple of books so yay for that. I’m still working on quite a few knitting projects, but I’m almost done with knitting a hat and a shawl I started a couple of weeks ago. Really, it’s only four projects. Usually I cast on one project at a time but since fall has come I had the feeling of wanting to cast on more things than I could knit at a time. Though the hat is part of a Christmas present I’m planning to give away for a friend. Yes, I started Christmas knitting without the Christmas music.

Here at Bookmunchies we believe in being surprises for the week
(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo: 4 of 5 stars – Like the past couple of Leigh Bardugo books I’ve read it starts out slow but super action packed in the middle that ends up making me adore these characters.
The Secret History of Us by Jessi Kirby: 3 of 5 stars – In most books friendship and breakups end in a cat fight of sorts this one…it’s kind of refreshing to see they just all drift apart amicably, which is rare in books.

  1. Glad to hear you had a great reading week. I hope this week is the same. Enjoy your new book and have a wonderful week. 😁❤️

  2. Time really does fly 🙂 it’s almost a year that I’ve been blogging now! I didn’t get a lot of reading done in September unfortunately, but I’m hoping for the best for October 🙂

  3. It both makes me sad, and crazy excited, when all the Christmas books and fever kicks off before Halloween is through… But I did add a few to the pile for reading in November. 🙂

  4. I can’t believe it’s October already either, but Autumn and Winter are two favourite seasons, I’m hoping the cold weather kicks in, so I can just come back from work and read all the books in my blanket! I’m glad to see that you enjoyed Wonder Woman, as the reviews tend to be really mixed with it! I hope you have a great week!

  5. This year has went by so fast, it crazy. There’s Somebody in your House is one that I would like to read, I hope you enjoy it. Have a great week.

  6. The time has gone by too quickly. I can’t believe we are going to be in month three of the school year this week. We already have parent conferences on Friday. Although, I will say that this year has moved along VERY smoothly so far, especially compared to last year. I can’t seem to keep up with anything these days – reading, blogging, bullet journaling. The going back and forth between houses and stuff being divided between the two isn’t working out so well for me. I am hoping to finish my book today, though!

  7. I feel like yesterday was just 2015 so it’s mindblowing that we’re already in October of 2017. I’m a bit bothered by it! Haha. I’m very curious about The Secret History of Us, though. I guess I let that one slip by me without knowing it existed but I’m kind of intrigued now that I’ve read it/a few reviews.

  8. It’s honestly weird how it’s October already. I feel like I have said that about every month this year. D: I liked Wonder Woman: Warbringer too!!! I can’t wait for Leigh’s next novel. I hope you enjoy your new book!

Have a wonderful week, Jackie =)

    Check out my STS post!

  9. I’m always so impressed by those who can knit. My sister does okay at it and has tried to teach me but I just don’t seem to pick it up. I’m quite hopeless at it, sadly. Your projects sound lovely and I’m sure the gifts will be loved. Homemade gifts are always so special! I’ll be interested to see what you think of There’s Someone Inside Your House. I’m seeing such mixed reviews.
