Weekly Wrap Up (33)

Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up with Bookmunchies. This is our weekly update that combines Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer‘s SUNDAY POST and Tynga’s Reviews‘ STACKING THE SHELVES. This is a post to share news, to recap the week on the blog, share new reads and new books, and upcoming fun for the week ahead!

Hey guys, Jackie here,

I hope everyone didn’t have a terrible Friday the 13th despite the superstitious day. Mine wasn’t too bad and I kind of “prepared” myself for the worse. Like the buses not running on time (what am I talking about? the buses never run on time). Anyways it was an okay work week. It’s kind of funny because as a kid I never really liked Halloween and maybe it’s just me but I wasn’t too big of a fan to go trick or treating. Though I think my parents stopped taking us trick or treating once I was in middle school. As an adult I’m kind of excited about Halloween although I’m still not a fan of trick or treating (I don’t know about you, but I get shy about ringing people’s doorbells but maybe that’s just my introvert self asking me what am I doing?). I think this is the first year that I’ve actually want to dress up for Halloween. It feels mandatory to dress up when you’re a kid and I’d get super shy about it when people ask me who I’m supposed to be so I don’t do it. Maybe it’s because this year my supervisor and coworkers are planning to dress up so I won’t feel weird if I end up being the only one dressing up.

Are you planning to dress up for Halloween this year? If so, who or what are you planning to be?

(aka. we procrastinate, so we can’t tell you what’s quite coming up yet).

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins: 4 of 5 stars – Definitely was a bit spooked even though there were some parts of the story that left me confused.

  1. I’m curious about John Green’s new book. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Have a wonderful reading week. 😁❤️

  2. Actually, the friday was fine, didn’t feel unlucky at all 🙂
People don’t trick or treat here. It’s not a holiday native to where I live, it’s been a thing for maybe only 10 years. So nobody really dresses up here. But I do enjoy all the spoopy movies :)))
    Have a great week!

  3. I am not a halloween fan. I don’t like scary things and giving people a reason to try and scare me is just not my jam. And I hate costumes.
Yeah, I’m old and cranky. But I’m okay with it.

  4. I loved Halloween – the dressing up part – until my mother refused to let me wear my Princess Jasmine costume. She forced me to wear sweatpants underneath it and ruined it. Ruined it! The first year I got to be something other than a pumpkin and she ruined it! After that I didn’t care much for dressing up…or Halloween because by then I had two brothers who just held us back trick or treating. I like the season, but the costumes are extremely overpriced and don’t fit right. I can do without the dressing up, although I do want to!

  5. So you are on the “like” side with the new Perkins. I am so torn about reading it, because reviews are all over the place. That’s why I have put it off for so long. I really hope my library gets a copy of Turtles. It’s been so long since I read a new JG book, and I am very excited about this one.

  6. You made me smile when you said you’re procrastinators. I usually am too. I’ll have lots of plans, but usually not get around to most of them.
    Anyway, have a great week!
